The principle
Every electronic measuring device only delivers correct results if it is checked regularly, i.e. correctly calibrated and adjusted as necessary. Only through documented calibration does an electronic balance, test weight or other measuring device become a reliable measuring and testing tool, especially in quality-relevant processes.
Accredited calibration in accordance with Akkreditierung Austria documents traceability to the national standard and thus meets the specific normative requirements of QM systems. Accredited calibrations are internationally valid.
Only an accredited calibration laboratory may issue calibration certificates with an accreditation symbol. In addition to the measurement result, these certificates not only show the measurement method, but also document the traceability of the test equipment to national standards and specify the respective measurement uncertainty.
