Calibration of balances

Every balance only delivers correct results if it is checked regularly, i.e. calibrated and adjusted if necessary. Only documented accredited calibration makes a balance a reliable measuring and testing device. The issued calibration certificates with the accreditation symbol are proof of metrological traceability to national or international standards, as required by the DIN EN ISO 9000 and DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards, among others. The standard does not specify a particular recalibration interval. KERN recommends that you have your balance recalibrated every 6 months if it is used intensively (daily) and every 12 months if it is used normally (approx. weekly).

This service is characterised by minimal downtime and personal contact with a specialist. This calibration service is brand-independent.

Recommended for new devices and balances that can be transported cost-effectively, as there is no need to travel to the site for on-site calibration. Any necessary repairs can be carried out quickly and comprehensively.

The procedure is as follows:

Day 1: Dispatch of your balances to the KERN calibration laboratory in Mieders.

Day 2 to 3: Evaluation and calibration of your scales by our specialists.

Day 4: After positive evaluation, return shipment of your balances.
